The modern photograph above shows 18 Brixton road currently with the green sign saying ‘Sogat House’ with adjoining doorway to 18a.
You can see Number 18 and 18a in the photo above taken in 1912, if you look carefully the sign says Andrew & Nanson as documented in the list from Kelly’s Directory below.
The entries for 18 Brixton road sometimes refer to 18a and sometimes not. At first 18a is listed as ‘Gothic Chambers’ and then later as apartments. I’m not quite sure what makes an apartment gothic but apparently 18a was of that ilk.
