Kelly’s Directory 1881 tells us that at 56 & 58 Holland street lived Mr Ebenezer Gunn, a harness maker (One who makes, repairs or sells harnesses for horses)

Expanding on the info taken from Kelly’s Directory and looking at the Census we find out a little more…

Mr Gunn can be seen living at this property along with his family on the Census of 1881, the same year that the Kelly’s Directory I took my original information from was published.  The property is no longer standing.

By the Census of 1891 Ebenezer Gunn does not feature, presumably he is dead. His son is now head of the house and having inherited the profession of harness maker is now running the business.
