Due to the fact that the Census for 1881 for this part of the street is damaged I have had to examine the census from 1871 and 1891 to see if he is listed on that. Mr Curtis is not on the 1871 Census but luckily he appears on that of 1891. A Basingstoke carpenter seen living next door to the pub with his family at 29 Holland Street. The family have moved on by 1901.
